Terms of Service

A one-time AverVOX Pro license covers personal or commercial use and every version 1 release up to, but not including, version 2.0.

Agreement

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before purchasing or using AverVOX Pro (“the Software”). By purchasing a license or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of the applicable license fee, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use AverVOX Pro for your own personal or commercial purposes.

Your license is valid for every version 1 release—all releases from your purchased version up to, but not including, v2.0—at no additional charge. Future major version upgrades (v2.0 and beyond) may require a separate license purchase.

2. Permitted use

  • Install and run the Software on your own machine or machines.
  • Use the Software for personal and commercial purposes.
  • Make a reasonable number of backup copies for archival purposes.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Redistribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or lend the Software or your license key to any third party.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software.
  • Use the Software to develop a competing product.
  • Share, publish, or otherwise disclose your license key.

4. Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. All prices are in USD. The license fee is a one-time charge; there are no recurring subscription fees and no free trial of AverVOX Pro.

To evaluate the product before purchasing, use AverVOX OSS—the free, open-source edition available from PyPI or GitHub. Pro is licensed software delivered only after purchase.

Purchasing Pro indicates that you have evaluated AverVOX, typically through the free OSS edition, and wish to license the commercial product. After Stripe confirms payment, automated fulfillment sends a license key and private download access to the email address used at checkout. Delayed payment methods can take longer to confirm. Delivery of your license key completes the sale; the purchase cannot be refunded, cancelled, or exchanged.

Placing an order indicates that you want the Software and are willing to work with us through our support channels if you encounter a problem. We provide email support for licensed customers at support@avervoxpro.com and will work with you to resolve legitimate issues with the product.

5. License activation

Your license key is verified offline after initial activation. We reserve the right to revoke a license key if it is found to have been obtained fraudulently, shared publicly, or used in violation of these Terms.

6. Updates and support

We will make reasonable efforts to provide bug fixes and updates for AverVOX Pro throughout the version 1 line—all releases up to, but not including, v2.0. We do not guarantee any specific update schedule, feature additions, or continued support beyond version 1. Licensed customers may contact support@avervoxpro.com for help with installation, configuration, and product issues; we will work with you in good faith to resolve legitimate problems.

7. Open-source components

AverVOX Pro incorporates open-source components including faster-whisper, Piper TTS, Kokoro, PyGObject, and others. These components are distributed under their respective open-source licenses, which are not affected by these Terms. AverVOX OSS, the free edition of this software, is separately available under the MIT License.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software.

10. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Your license terminates automatically if you breach any provision of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.

11. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction located in the State of Maine.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
